Verbatims 16x vs 8x??

Right guys I've done some research (on this board) and Verbatims seem the way to go.....the problem is I can only get my hands on 16x speed i've read several sources that state 16x shouldn't be used for burning games. However I have a friend who burns games on a Datawrite 16x speed disc and has no problems....

I mean 16x speed can't be all that bad.....?

I use Verbatim and Sony 16x and both are fine.

Fine as in the game just boots or Fine as in perfect gameplay, cutscenes work and normal loading times. >_<

Also Omri what speed do you burn games when using your Verbitims 16x?

Sorry forgot to add I read there are a lot of fakes that go around I want to buy these Verbatim discs are they ok?
