I've been ripping cd's for awhile now, but this was the first time I've ripped a SafeDisc 2.8 cd from what I can remember. When I began to rip it with alochol 120%. It would rip at like under 1x speed when going through the sector errors. After it finished going through the errors, it would start ripping back at it's usual speed. I was wondering is this normal for cd's that use safedisc 2.8 protection?
I have a LG GCE-8160B, so it's 2 sheep and I did choose "SafeDisc 2" under the protection type in clonecd and I also checked with CLONYXXL to see if it was safedisc 2.8.

This is normal for Safedisc 2.x cd protection. This protection lies mainly within the first 1-10.500 sectors of the cd (about 3 %) and "pre-gap" within 1-150 sectors.
