First of all, hiya everyone here on the forums, I've been using the forums for useful information for a long time now, but now I've encountered a problem that I couldn't find any information about via the search function.

I've backed up 4 PS2 Games (PotC:At World's End, Okami, Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts II). I burned them on Nashua DVD+R 4.7 Gig discs using the ImgBurn Software. But after two weeks of playing said games, I started Final Fantasy XII yesterday, and my memory card was apparently corrupted leaving my save file in a state in which I couldn't play anymore. I tried to delete some of the corrupted files (there were 3 on the card) but only two were deleted. So, I thought: 'Maybe it's just the copy of FFXII, it's probably just that.' Then I played the other three games, and the memory card became corrupted for those game saves as well! You can imagine how that made me feel. I tried and tried to keep on saving in Okami, but either the memory card wasn't found, or there was no saving going on.
So, big problems, because my PS2 (Matrix v.1.52 mod-chip) just stopped working at a particular moment and it made a horrible monotonous screeching sound, one that I recognise from my last (first) PS2, and after it made that sound in the past, I had to afford a new PS2 altogether!

Does someone have ANY idea what the hell is going on? Or even have a solution? I thank you greatly in advance.

Joep.

No idea wht could cause that problem. I know the memory card should have just been formated rather than trying to delete the corrupted files. That would have been the best method.

As far as the PS2 not working can you go into a bit more detail about what it does when you start it and try to play games.

Thank you for replying first and formost, I think I might have phrased something wrong: it's not the Ps2 that doens't work anymore, it's the backed-up games I play with it, for example: Okami goes inside the ps2, I play for like 5 minutes, try to save at a Save Mirror, memory card is only found half of the time, and when it ís found I can't save to it, giving a message as: 'Could not save game, continue without saving?'
And when I try to make it look for the memory card again, it makes that awful screeching sound. Could it maybe be the memorycard? Because I bought it at a legal retailer, but it's not an original Sony Card, rather a 16MB souped-up version of the original.
Thanks in advance.
Joep./

try getting a memory card format program, or a new memory card.

.BIN and .CUE files in the MCKiller program? Burn them to a disc and it'll work?
