Do you have to lock the hd for the xbox to use it? can you send me a link to a faq about this topic thanks in advance for all your help in this topic

No, you dont. You have to lock it only if you decide to disable the modchip to go live for example. If you want to lock it, read this http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/lock-hdd.php
