Hello.
I'm new to this forum but have been finding usefull information here for the last couple years.

My problem is with DVD Shrink 3.2 getting an error and failing to read E:/

I have searched the net and can't really find any up to date information. Most threads are from 2004 and suggest... dvd decryptor or something i think... which is no longer available.

The discs are fine and this problem happens with all of them.

What I don't understand is that I used to use DVD Shrink all the time. Then one day I started getting errors. I've uninstalled and reinstalled for the 3rd time now.
This program used to be quick and easy to use. Now it's causing way too many headaches.

Any suggestions on other programs to do the same job or to help DVD Shrink would be greatly appreciated!

I have no problem buying programs as long as there is a trail version I can try first. I've had problems with other trail versions though which makes me hesitant to just buy something without trying it.

DVD Shrink is outdated, that's why your head hurts:(

Download and install DVDFab (free), gotten here:
http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabHDDecrypter3145Beta.exe

Use DVDFab to rip the video files to your HDD.

Run shrink and use it to open the files you just ripped to your HDD and have it create the backup.

Now if shrink produces an error while trying to open the files, you'll need to fist process then thru FixVTS, then try and open the files using shrink.

sometimes that means a scratched/dirty disks when you use
dvdshrink.........try cleaning the disk try again
could also be a bad factory disks aswell.

Ok so it worked... almost nearly perfect.
One slight problem.. the sound. There is sound there but you can barely hear it. I have the volume turned right on up on both the program and my speakers. Normally this would be VERY loud but you have to strain to hear it.
Any suggest?

If you did a full movie backup, the correct audio channel should be present, so make sure that if you're processing the audio thru your stereo equipment, it's setup properly (or what ever the audio is being processed by, make sure the correct audio channel/format is chosen, best to choose 5.1 AC3 channel).

I you reauthored the DVD, you should of chosen the 5.1 AC3 english audio to keep, and again, make sure you audio equipment is setup correctly to process that audio format.
