Is it true that the setup disk can only be read if the WiiKey is installed properlly?

I must have installed my WiiKey in correctly then, because the setup disc which I burned on a HP light scribe 16x does show up (like every other time I turn on the Wii) and brings me to the wiikey setup screen, but it does not let me choose any options, it just says "saving options....Done" and nothing happens after that. What should I do?

all i want is a working modded wii...

personally I would try to reset console to manufacturers date, thats just a complete guess though. why do you really NEED to save any setting, everything works ok without changing anything :/

Region override? I thought the chip would automatically play out of region backups. what else would you need to change region for?

To play NTSC-JAP and PAL games? (Though I don't recommend playing PAL games if you have a NTSC Wii).

The Wiikey does not have region override feature when you first install it. You'll have to turn it on manually.

If you bought it in America, it is NTSC :) Europe is PAL (and Japan is NTSC-J I think)

Is either better quality than the other? And does the wii key accept both?
