I'm getting an error when using this problem. I just got my drive today (8164B) and installed with no problems. I loaded up RawDump 2.0 and it reads the disc fine. First it says looking up disk info, then it says finding seeds. Heres where the problem is...the instant it says dumping it brings up an error which says that an unexpected error occured. Then asks if I want to continue or quit. If I hit continue, then nothing will happen and it doesnt start the reading. How do I get this thing working?

I forgot to mention that the file always finishes ends up being 32.0 KB after the error. And that sometimes the error says "Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow." A more detailed message is here:

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I realized that I had to change my drive to PIO mode. This fixed it. Even though my drive can now rip my game, it takes about 5 hours. This is twice as long as it should. Why is it taking so long?

The reason it takes 5 hours is because it is set to PIO mode, you need to enable DMA Mode.

To do this you need to go into Device Manager and change the settings for the IDE Controller.

http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm
That guide will tell you everything.

If the above doesn't work you may have to go into the BIOS and change the settings in there. (Usually Delete or F1 when the computer is starting up)

JackAz,

I was saying that i will get an error in DMA mode which prevents the disc from being read. It will give an overflow message. Then once I switch to PIO mode, everything works it's just really slow. Switching to DMA mode again will result in same problem as before.
