I have the complete lord of the rings extended edition trilogy, but only for today. Being the extended editions, they all come on 2 discs. Is there any way to put them on 1 regular DVD? Extra features is not important.

You can rip them to you hard drive with some like DVDFab HD Decrypter.
Then use DVD Shrink reauthor mode. Find the 1st disc then add the movie listed under 'main movie' then find the second one and add it.
No extras and menus.
This would be some heavy compression on these - quality may not be that good.
