Hello All,

I have a v.15 PSTwo (77003 - Australian) and have been wanting to back up games for some time. I figure HDD would be the best option for me, and was wondering,

1.) Is this concept possible?
2.) Can I just use any external USB HDD?
3.) Will an exploit resolve any further modding?
4.) Is this all I need to do to set up?

Oh, and if all else fails, anybody know any decent UK Modders?

All help is much appreciated

STUPID ME!! YOU WROTE USB HDDS! OMFG sorry.

Yes it is possible. You need a program called USBAdvance, or another program that is free (you need an exploit to load it, though) called USBExtreme.

OmriSama -- Cheers mate (lol!)

So I take it I copy the exploit to the memory card to initially load the HDD? And this definitely works on Version 15 (77003)

Thanks again,

Andy

Again, thanks.

Is this advisable to do? I know my version has USB 1.0 or 1.1 - would this make game play slow? can I not just install USB 2.0 and rip out the other ones?

Well, you can just burn USBAdvance to a CD and load it up with Swap Magic/Modchip or use a DEV1 mode to load USBExtreme.

And yes, connect the USB HDD before you load up the program and it should work.

What i don't like about USB HDDs is that game compatibillity is very very low and loading times are slower. But if you want to use USB HDDs you can just use that...

I've got the same SCPH-77003 version PS2 but in England... I actually thought that it was a v16 after one vendor site said it was!

I'm somewhat confused as I came on here today to find out which swap magic tool I'd need, but having read this I'm in 2 minds of which way to go. The thing is, is tat... Well, I'm a bit thick and can't really understand the concepts behind exploits, what USB ports are there for if as some places say you need to link a HD up to a Network, and that you need an adaptor for PS2 to connect to a network.

Put simply... My head is melting and any advice - in baby talk if possible - would go down a treat!

Or even a pointer to a site or thread where dumbos like me might be able to get things!

Cheers all!

Hanging about in a marquee...
Isn't that loitering with-in-tent?!?
