Hi all.

Can I copy the files on a DVD to my hard drive so later I can convert the .vob's etc. to divx or Xvid and then onto 2 cdr's?
I have rented a movie that I really want to backup but haven't figured out how to copy to CDR yet.

Thanks all

Im afraid that its illegal to back-up movies that you have rented, thats copying and infringing upon copy right protection. Piracy is not supported on this forum, so you will have to get your answer somewhere else.

Rules are Rules rosedog.

Piracy is illegal and unwelcome here. Had a Moderator seen brock's or your post, they'd smack ya'll around for it.

My 2 cents.

There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

Yeah bodene, you are a really tough cop! :-)

If you have checked out rosedog's link you should have seen that it goes to the forum rules and not to a guide.

The right answer is the one Oriphus gave, we don't have to say anything more about it. Just my theory says that everyone who in the public blaims piracy so hard like you, has a few movie copies in his house and many many Mp3s in the HD.

See ya!

*blaimes* is actually spelled blames. Here's a link to a good spellchecker if you wish to communicate in legible English. www.dictionary.com

It's not illegal to possess mp3's, or have copies of my own movies in my house. No idea why you went there. Is flaming such as yours, like piracy, against the rules here? Chinga tu madre.

Well I am from Greece, how are your Greek? Not better from my English I think.

My point was that we can't "attack" every newbie that makes a question like this, only admins can do that. And you can't talk to rosedog that way without checking out his link.

That's just my opinion.

Thanks for getting my back on that one.

What really surprises me is that it took more time to type up what a mod. would do, rather than just clicking the link.

So if I guess the next time anyone has a problem ripping just do alt+F4 and that will fix it.

My apologies guys. If I thought that my post would have caused so much controversy, I definitely would not have posted it.

Piracy point taken, thanks.

Well this forum belong to Afterdawn and the moderators have been told what to do in such situations. What I was trying to say is that a mod would just say that this question cannot be answered and not "attack" the user who made it. Why? Because this users may leave the forum (and the site) and never check back.

I am not trying to role as Mr.NiceGuy but I am posting about three months here and I have never seen a mod to say to a user who asks something like this that he'll smack him around for making this question. I will like to hear a mod's opinion about this.

Of course if Brick had forgot to write the sentence "I have... to CDR yet" nothing would have happened and he would have got his question answered! :-)

Peace, brothers!

Lets not get concerned about who has the better English or spelling as we are all here to try and help people, even if they know that they have made a mistake(e.g Brock114).

Peace!
