bricked psp with 2 year warranty at bestbuy

i accidentaly broke my psp's screen so it was not good at all the warranty doesn't cover damage done to the psp but the harware malfunction
so i bricked my psp to make the screen not come up and use the reason of a game malfunction or that i was trying to upgrade and the power got cut off
i'm in canada by the way any one here knows if this would work or not
i had a fw version 3.40oe-a would htey be able to unbrick it and find out or somethin?

help needed asap plz

Yes sony will know you had the custom firmware on there, and then they will gladly go ahead and upgrade your firmware for you to 3.51 after fixing it- which in turn, you wont be able to downgrade......Is the screen cracked? If not, you could try to return it to Best Buy as a hardware malfunction-and hope they just let you grab another one off the shelf...but like I said, if you have to deal with Sony yourself- they will make sure you have the latest firmware installed when they return it to you..I am not sure what Best Buy's policy is on a warranty return..Guess you will have to give it a shot.

Most probably, sony would repair your bricked PSP and then, return you with the damage screen.

luckily for me when i went to best buy to customer support they just asked me what's wrong and i told them that it is not working so they just told me that they will take it and replace it with a new one
but they were out of stock so they told me to come back later next week and that no other store has any psp

i just hope that the psp will not be a firmware 3.51 if it is then i'm screwed till 1 or 2 years

My PSP screen had a vertical line of pixel which went dead. I took it back and sony sent me a new PSP with an old firmware on. That was 3 weeks ago (I received it back last week). So you might be lucky.

Also I sent it back with a battery in the box. The new PSP came with everything. So I gained an extra power cable. Had I kept the battery I might have ended up with an extra battery too !.. next time...
