Yes, just update to 3.40OE-A. It's a mix of 1.5 and 3.40, but with a lot of extras like customizing your home screen, playing ps1 games, and playing iso's. You can always go back to 1.5 from it easily. Here's a guide and a link to the easy installer.

uh, being a complete dumbass and cutting the power during flashing, or not following the instructions correctly will brick 99% of the time.

My umd drive doesnt work "properly" so is that gonna be a problem? oh and i dont have charger for my batter to connect to the psp. i have a charge where i put the batter inside the charger and than hook it up to the wall. Is that gonna be a problem? thx guys.

Check your recovery settings, see if anything had changed.

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

well that's the problem. my psp is new so i do not know what my initial settings were. i couldn't have changed anything from the recovery menu because i only learned that such a thing existed after my tekken 5 stopped playing.

Your settings might change itself, if something is wrong with your flash1.

I assume you have an umd in your drive.
Go to recovery menu, disable NO-UMD
Go to advanced, advanced settings, disable all 3 options.

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...
