Hi guys,
how do you like your moves after using dvd2one?
Has DVD video Quality gone afetr using this software or the movie still stays as good as original?
What about movies that are as long as 190 mins?
Thanks

The quality of a dvd that is 3 hours + may be decreased by quite a bit so you may need to cut it in half and use 2 cd's

I recently backed up both Lord of the Rings movies using DVD Decrypter then shrunk them using DVD2One and burnt them with Nero 6. Both 3 hour movies turned out great. I fully expected them to have a severe loss in picture quality, but there was little to none that I could tell.

DVD2One rocks.

There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

The new version of DVD2One allows you to cut movies in half.

Hi Oriphus!

How do you cut a DVD in half with DVD2One?? I thought you could only join movies together with it and not use it to cut them in half???

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Your spot on - you can only join in it - my mistake. I havent tried it yet, but my assumption was that it would work both ways and not just for joining. The other option is this:

Rip the whole movie without compressing. Load half of the VOB files into TMPGEnc DVD Author and create an output for them. then load the other half and create another output. You will now have to DVD discs waiting to be burnde. Remember that you cannot keep menus and extras doing it this way, but you can create your own.

Orpheus - I use Intervideos DVDCOPY- it will tell you how many disks are required and will prompt U to insert the second disk so on a big movie I wouldnt bother to compress with DVD2One at all. On a movie of say 5-6GB I have noticed no perceptable difference compressing with DVD2One so far except for Pulp Fiction - which I am re-doing.

I tend to omit the extras and just copy the movie only unless the extras are worth keeping.

One Q. bugs me though - the compression ratio with DVD2One - I have to set it at 4400 or else dvdcopy wont fit it all on the disk even though i use 4.7Gb blank media.
