Samsung DVD burner software

Dear ALL,

Have a Samsung 18x DVD burner in and it is not functioning. If I look up the driver it keeps telling me that it is the most current version but does not even recognise that the hardware is installed. So in frustration I have uninstalled the software in the hope of finding a new copy on the net. Where can I download a free copy of the correct driver software? Do I have to physically reinstall the drive because I have uninstalled the old software driver.

if you uninstall the drive ,windows will reinstall it when you reboot

now the firware for the drive you need to update yourself, check here for an update

One of the things that is overlooked when installing a new drive is setting the jumper to the correct setting(master or slave). Are you sure your's are set correctly?
