So, I'm not sure if this has been an issue for anyone else, but I haven't seen it on any other forums / topics. I decided to softmod my ps2 recently. I wanted to use cogswap to play backup copies of my games. I put in my trigger disc, load cogswap, and then I get to the main cogswap screen. I put replace the ps1 trigger disc with a ps2 game, and then hit X. Then by used the slide card method, I open up my disc tray and put in the burnt copy. I hit X once more and it appears to attempt to load the game. However the screen just goes black, and no game loads. The disc is still spinning (being read) by the ps2, yet no loading is being done. Most people may say its my burnt copy that is the problem. However, I've also swapped in normal ps2 games instead of burnt dvd's and they also go to a black screen and stay there. I don't know if it's my laser or what. My ps2 is quite old. If someone could please give me some advice here, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

the original ps2 game you are using must be bigger than the burnt game you are tying to load. Also, just checking, you are using the slide card to close the tray also, right?

yes, i am closing it as well. I actually got it to work a little while after posting this thread. Thanks for responding though. Grand Theft Auto seemed to work well as a PS2 DVD
