as you have all seen in other posts, the box wont load and it says kein system
i have seen that the box needs to be flashed, only im a complete noob to this and havent a clue how to do it
another problem i have is i dont have a laptop and my pc is upstairs and the dbox is downstairs so its impossible to network them
any help would be great

Dont need to network them mate just take your box up to the pc and flash it useing ifa and a crossover cable
It does not need to be connected to the internet to do this....Paul

If you have a kein system on your d box there is only ifa that will remove it ......Paul

i do want it mate, and help on how to do it too if you can
i am computer literate, but im new to the d boxes, and my local whizz kid cant get back to me till friday, i reckon i can work it out myself by then
once i have done the IFA, do i need to re-install the sporster software on it?, only i dont have the software

The IFA flashes an image (usually sportster or commando) onto your box. The IFA & 'images' are freely available on the web, you just have to go search for it.

Most computer shops will sell crossover cables (it will be clearly marked).
However, like I posted if you have a few straight through cables then you can 'make' a crossover cable. It's fairly easy.
I heard that if you have a router, then you can actually use a normal cable.

i have a router, i dont fancy making my own cable though
would be a lot easier if i knew someone who would just come round plug the laptop into it and away we go

Since you have a router, then your up and ready. You just need to find a flashing guide and away you go.
