Well, Im still waiting on my copy of .hack//g.u. to arrive from play-asia, and i decided that id burn a copy to get ahed of the game and to make sure its compatible while i wait for it to arrive. Unfortunatly, ordering the games has left me strapped for cash, and so i've had to buy some Fugifilm DVDs. The First DVD i pulled out had the media id PRODISCF01. Im wondering if this will be alright for short term use.
You can check here for a list of media IDs along with their respective brand names. As for using those Fujifilm DVDs temporarily, I definitely don't suggest you do so. It simply isn't worth the time. Try playing that backed-up game on the Fujifilm disc and tell us how it goes. I doubt I'd be surprise what kind of problems you might face like slowdowns, long loading times and so forth. If you were using an old PS2, perhaps you can get around it somewhat. The problems might not be as bad on a fat PS2, but I've only heard of a few exceptional cases where people were able to use Memorex and such but their Memorex DVD-Rs checked out to be RICOHJPNs. Overall, just wait it out and don't use those Fujifilm DVDs. If you want to play immediately, I say try snatching what's nearby in Sony or Ritek, and if you can, Verbatim. For long time use, I'd absolutely recommend Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
*nods* i thought so. Oh well. they'll be good for when i need to move my junk to a new pc. Thanks for the advice. Mostly right now, i just want to test that my setup works. My PS2 is oldish (SPH-50003). I think i'll take a look at those DVDs you mentioned anyway.
