I have firmware 3.40oe
i turned No UMD on, and disabled all thoes option in the advance menu
but still some games start, then go black screen for like 5 seconds then the psp turns off. i even tryed overclocking the cpu for iso/umd and it didnt do anything. some games still work tho, but some games that worked before dont work now. i played around with the XMB to change the theme but i restored it and all the files to original.

easy answer dont change settings when u dont know what they do!

PSP RECOVERY SETTINGS

\CONFIG
Skip SCE Logo = ENABLED (Optional)

Hide Corrupt Icons = ENABLED

Game Folder Homebrew = 1.50 KERNAL

Autorun Program At /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP = DISABLED

Use NO-UMD = : ENABLED (If Game Wont Work Then Disable)
: DISABLED (If You Have A UMD In The Drive)

SOME GAMES NEED NO-UMD ON AND OTHERS NEED IT OFF

Fake Region = DISABLED

Free UMD Region = ENABLED

\ADVANCED
Plain Modules in UMD/ISO = ENABLED

Execute BOOT.BIN In UMD/ISO = DISABLED

Use ISOFS Driver Also In UMD-Inserted Mode = DISABLED

Can't help with the theme bit but the general rule is to always have NoUMD disabled and have a UMD in the drive (Game/Demo but not video) because the NoUMD doesn't work for ALL games. Custom 3.51 M33 seems to work better but still plenty of games that don't work.
If your UMD Drive is broke this may not help. ;-)
