through network update or from the official psp site. dont upgrade for the sake of just having the latest version on your psp though just use what you need since you may decide later to use psp open edition firmware and there isnt currently a downgrader for 3.51

Make an UPDATE folder inside your GAMES folder so the path looks like this (Your Drive letter):\PSP\GAMES\UPDATE (also make sure that updates folder is in all caps) then go get the 3.50 update (i gat all mine from qj.net) and put that eboot in the update folder you made and you are good to go, Make sure your PSP is at least 75% charged before any upgares/downgrades

if you update with original firmware, say goodbye to homebrew. on does the whole hold L to bypass the battery thing work for original firmware?
