blackvamp told me to make a thread dedicated to my easy installer for 3.51 m33, since it takes so long to make the update. even longer than making a dxar file.

This is a universal upgrade to the newest custom firmware 3.51 M33

Requirements and Precautions

You must have 1.50 firmware on anny mobo.

OR

A custom firmware, OE such as 3.40 OE-A or 3.03 OE-C

Charge your battery at 100% and have your charger plugged in at all time

Make sure your battery is secure and will not fall out or fail

NO MATTER WHAT do not turn off your PSP during installation, nor take out the memory stick

USE A LEGITIMATE MEMORY STICK, not a fake MS from eBay, use the 32MB stock card, or a legitimate ScanDisk memory stick. Fake cards have a slight chance of fully bricking your PSP, do not take any risks.

FW compatibility:

Compatible with OE's and 1.50

If you are on 1.50, put the stated files to the stated folder as stated in the readme.txt, if you are in a custom firmware by Dark_Alex, put the stated files in the stated folder as stated in the readme.txt.

Included in the download:

Installation folder
WLAN bug fix folder
Readme.txt

The procedure is very simple, follow the readme.

MAKE SURE YOU MEET THE PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS!

Here is the readme.txt text:

Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PSP 3.51 M33 Installation

1-Copy 'n paste "351M33FLASHER" to the GAME folder of your PSP (GAME150 if you are in OE/SE).
2-Run "3.51 M33UPDATE' from your PSP.
3-Press X to start flashing, R if to abort.
4-TEAM M33 OR ME WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BRICKS!
5-Once on M33, copy 'n paste the "WLAN Bugfix" folder to the GAME150 folder of your PSP, then run "M33 Update"
6-Press X (No brickage)
7-Enjoy M33!

Can you apply it from 3.40 OE? What are the main changes with this CF?

Ok. Have you tested it? I have it all ready, I am on 3.40 OE-A and I can install it in no time, but I want to stick with 3.40 for a while until I know that this is proven to work.

Ask backvamp to sticky this dude

Well, m33 has nothing really to offer, unless there is some super awesome game I want to play that requires 3.51. Thanks anyway. I cannot risk my PSP at this moment

Hey Ckhaleel, again, good job for releasing this. It'll help out alot of people.

Why not make a step-by-step readme along with the release. Including which firmware can be upgraded from. I know many things seem trivial to you , but it'll help settling down all the nervous newbies. :)

Thanks again.

P.S. As much as I'd like to see this stickied, I have no power to do so. XD

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

You seriously should have that power, you are more dedicated to this section than I am to watching porn. How can I nominate you as a VIP or moderator of the PSP sections?

I don't see why people talk about how long it takes them to generate the update. I had it created in no less than 3 minutes.

Especially me, I always prefer easy installers than the manual way. Hopefully, none of the ones I am going to use are meant to brick your PSP

I recommend the Easy Installer way to people on the forums because it elimantes nearly any chance of human error. But I personally prefer the manual method because you don't run the risk of using a "Easy Installer" designed for the purpose of bricking. Just to point this out, I am not saying that CKhaleel is creatubg a Easy Installer meant to brick,I would trust his work but I personally prefer the manual method.

Yeah 3.51 M-33 is "the next big thing" and with the just released "M-33 Update 6" it now incorporates the ISO loader designed by Sony! So lets hope it works out for the best. This M-33 team is good, their moving fast and making progress.

My experience w/ M33 is not so good. I added all my mod files and USB stopped working. I was gonna try a semawnUSB.prx or w/e it's called from 3.40, but there were other things I didn't like. For instance, the pspbtcnf.txt files are now binary. You have to edit them w/ a hex editor and even tho I'm sorta crafty w/ a hex editor, I don't have the patience to figure this one out. So far, this means no screenshots. I was impressed, however, w/ the overall acceptance of the modded 3.40 files.

Bottom Line: Great custom FW. Let's give it time and it will be MUCH more stable. We may get some great hackers who are able to change the syscalls to read text instead of binary for the KN folder.

5/10 stars. (only b/c I like to hack)
3.40 OE - 10/10 stars. What can I say? Back to 3.40...

Yeah 3.51 M33 is far from the stable,reliable goodness that is OE firmware(s). But like I said in time I believe team M33's firmwares will mature into a much more stable sophisticated piece of work.

Just a update, I installed the M-33 update 6. Which among other things incorporates the much talked about ISO loader devloped by Sony. And it works! Was able to play games like Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters without a UMD! Couldn't do that before, hooray!

I installed it by using the manual way successfully! 3.51 M33-6 is what I'm running, and I am running with the newest update. Everything updated in a flash, so awesome!

No more UMD required for ISOs, 3.51 m33 is so stable!

Yep! In fact, they are asking that websites put the M33 PayPal link on their sites, for the M33 team needs money for hardware, and they deserve some donations. Other websites are getting so many viewers, and M33 wants some of that in cash!

Kudos to M33! They are as much dear to me as D_A

Please donate to them! I already donated $150
