1. Should I use 3.51M33 or 3.40-OE? Because I'm getting Tales of the World: RM and I want to make sure that it works.

2. Does 3.51M33 have that "recovery mode" that lets you change the X and O button figurations?

Is it possible me to play games requiring 3.41+ on a 3.40OE-A PSP without doing the ISO-dumping thingy (using the actual UMD)? I want to save room on my memory stick, and copying ISO files takes a while due to size.

You can't. If it's anything above 3.40, you need 3.51 m33 to run. But I haven't seen anything yet.
