If your recorder is only 2x or 1x compatible, and you buy 4x dvds, would this affect the burning process, ? I would try it because there is alot of 4x dvds on the market now, but just wanted to know what others experiences are. Paying about $2 each try now. Adds up after awhile, but I would be willing to sacrifice a few bucks if I could burn faster, but I might as well burn slow if I'm sure it'll make a good burn.

I think you should stick to 2x media such as Ritek G03's since all 4x media are marked as possibly damaging your hardware if it doesnt support 4x. Its the safer option in my opinion. Also, i can see no difference between 2x and 4x burns in terms of quality output.
