The ps2 board seems to have gotten a little less quieter in recent months.

I asume the ps3 is the reason.

I have been on and off for the past few years here.

One thing I actually hope to get feedback on, is so many people seem to have problem with there mods.

flip tops, chips, hook ups. you name it.

Now there our so many chips out there, generic and types of what you want them to do for your unit.

modchip.com didnt repsond to one e-mail I had. are they still in the biz or just selling chips online only ?

I was hoping to get some real good data from some long term moddders not in the biz to promote or sell or mod products.

Since about 1/2 my posts never even get responded too, with the info I am looking for.

I imagine you have a tough time getting responses because your posts are awkward to read and are very vague.

thanks,

I am not sure where they are vague at though.

I was looking for a much more indepth review of the mods chips out there and also the flip tops.

I read so much on people having problems with them. What is the overall success rate of these mods ?

I recently toasted my brand new ps2 v15 trying to install mod chip.

So, I had additional wanted to know how many makers and sellers of these parts post on the site here to help people with those parts.

I have been to alot of the mod chip sites and as well as there forums. Well the ones that have them.

But not much being posted on them and some posts are pretty old also.

I guess I never see posts, mod was a success works great and here is is pics and links to how I did it and my process.

There really aren't too many reviews on chips out there - but for a newer slimline just about any chip will run backups. That's probably the feature 99% of people out there are interested in. If you want a specific feature - then you might look closer at a particular chip.

No clue on overall success rate. People who have a working mod don't have a reason to post. Mods I've done personally have almost always worked. When they don't, it's usually due to a faulty chip or a silly mistake on my part.

I buy mainly from www.mod-chip.com. Always had great customer service.

This guide is probably the best out there for how to install a chip. Even taught me a few things.

For your situation, I'd say remove the entire chip and all the wires. See if you can get your system to work normally. If so, have a pro install the chip.
