Oblivion Failint to intialize render

Hey, I'm running oblivion and every time i click play, it says failed to initialize render, and closes the game. I've tried running oldblivion but that doesn't work and gives me the exact same error, any help would be greatly appreciated-and i don't know where to go to see my computer specs... sorry
