So, I just bought a Wii. I am going to buy a modchip. The sole purpose of this modchip will be for playing backup games. I'm not concerned about anything else really, I just want to buy the chip that is most efficient at playing BACKUP games.

So, there are 2 options that I've narrowed it down to. The WiiKEY and team xecuter's NEW WiiP v2 (though it hasn't come out yet, anyone know when it's expected to?). I realize that the chip's ability to play backup games will depend on updates by the company that produced the chip. I know that Team Xecuter is very reliable in this department, but am unfamiliar with how dedicated WiiKey's team is.

My sole purpose for getting this chip is to play backup games forever. I don't want Nintendo coming out with some software update that'll disable my chip. I want to be able to backup a game 2 years from now and not have any problems. Would you say my best bet would be to wait for the Xecuter chip to come out? I'll appreciate any input. Thanks,

Mark

Yep, just wait for the Wiip v. 2.

The people behind the Wiikey I guess fled the scene as they are not releasing anymore updates.

If you want to only play Wii game Backups then the Wiikey will work. (Game Cube compatibility is limited with the Wiikey)

If you want to play Wii and Game Cube games to get the most potential I would suggest getting a WiiD.

I can't recommend the WiiP V2 yet because it hasn't been released and there are no reviews on the chip. I will be in line if the chip actually holds up to all the hype thats been behind it. But at this time it is just talk that hasn't been backed up yet.

2 words Team Xecuter !
If they say it will be the best then it will be the best. Yes talk is talk, but when it's Team Xecuter's talk it's worth plenty.

the wiinja deluxe is said to the best for gamecube compatible, and can also play wii import/backup too.
