So first off i have a mac i dont really now if that matters or not because i've already burned some games that have worked that were just Iso files. anyway I downloaded twisted Metal Black and it contained a mds file in it along with a Iso file in it. How do i burn this?

the same as anything else, burn the ISO.
The MDS file is created by DVD Decrypter when you copy a game, It is basically just a small file that tells the burner what to burn and how to burn it. If you happen to have DVD Decrypter then just load up the MDS file and it will burn the ISO file. If not then just burn the ISO file as you normally would.
