Hi,
I'm new here at the forum. But I do have a psp for a while and I know & understand about Firmwares and Homebrews and such.

My problem is very simple: Not long ago I turned successfuly the firmware of my psp into a 3.40 OE. And it's rocking from hell to heaven but It has a little problem. GTA:VC stories won't run at that current frimware (It gives me the following message: "The game could not be started (80020148)).

Anyway, before I got the 3.40 OE I used DEVHOOK and the game worked just fine. So, I thought why won't I combine those two and start the DEVHOOK from 3.40 OE.

So I combined them and When I start the DEVHOOK it's working fine. The problem is when I tries to get back from it to 3.40 OE: The PSP's screen get's all black and won't change from it, just like bricking. but, after a while it gets back to normal state and everything's o.k again.

When that happens it scares the sh** out of me. So what should do?
I really want to play GTA:VC again and I don't know what to do.

Please help me.

maybe you do have the "no umd" setting OFF, try switching it on, or if you sill cant, keep it off and use some UMD and it might work, works for me.

Is it a UMD or an ISO?

[Edit: H***, I'll post solutions either way:

If it's an ISO:

1- Go into the recovery menu (hold R while turning on your PSP).

2- Go to configuration and disable No-UMD mode.

3- Go back and then go to Advanced->Advanced Configuration. Disable everything here.

4- Your ISO should work fine.

If it is a UMD:

1- Try the same thing with the ISO, first.

2- Update to a newer custom firmware such as 3.51 M33; it has added support for games.]
