Ok, i have read tons of threads, read between the lines of everyone, and burned my share of coasters trying to figure this out. People who post or reply hardly make sense in what there saying or doing. So im gonna go ahead and post this thread.

This is instructions on how to use the cd disk in your SWAP MAGIC 3.8 CODER to load up your backed up *burned* copys of your ps2 dvd games.

I did this step by step as how i seen it on my tv. So i KNOW it works!

I own a slim line ps2 model number scph-70012 - Just so you know.

DOWNLOAD CDLOADER V7 BETA 5.2 AT - http://www.geocities.com/jayteemaster2003/


TO BURN CDLOADER DOUBLE CLICK ON THE CDLOADER.CUE
IT WILL BRING UP NERO TO BURN THE IMAGE.

1. PUT IN SWAP MAGIC CD.
2. WAIT TILL SWAP MAGIC CD STOPS THEN SWITCH OUT THE SWAP MAGIC DISK WITH THE CD LOADER DISK YOU JUST BURNED.

3. HIT THE "X" BUTTON TWICE, THE CD LOADER DISK WILL SPIN AND START.
4. YOU WILL THEN SEE A SCREEN WITH "VIDEO MODE" ON IT, JUST IGNORE, AND HIT THE "X" AGAIN

5. YOU WILL NOW SEE A SCREEN WITH "CHANGE THE DISC HIT X TO PLAY"...
6. PUT IN THE ORIGINAL PS2 GAME WITH A HIGH TOC (GTA-VICE CITY)AND THEN EJECT (OR LIFT UP THE MAGIC PIECE IN THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER AND PLACE IT BACK DOWN SO IT CAN READ THE DISK) THEN HIT "X"

7.IT WILL BRING UP A RED BACKGROUND & STOP SPINNING THE DISK THEN IT WILL SAY "put in a dvdr by ea method & press x to play. when you see this put in your burned backed up copy of dvd ps2 GAME & hit "x" and your finsh.

8. ENJOY!

that sounds like this method i had once i ordered a sm disc and the company informed me they upgraded me to an ultimate collections cd, in order for this to work u need an original game w/ as much data as you can find because you have to put the original in first then put in a backup. but the problem is if your original game is only 4.2gb you can not play a game that is 4.7gb so you would need to find a game that is 4.7 gb you can only play a game that is equal or less space to the original one you put in. I hope this makes since to you, that method was horrible and i told them i didn't ask to be upgraded i wanted my sm, i suggest just getting swap magic

In step 6, when it says swap or remove the piece, are you actually saying that i can press the eject button and take out the disc and put in a back-up or do I need a swap method?

i haven't used it in some time but i put in the ulitmate disc,, use eject button put in the original game... use swap method to use back up game... and you have a swap method if u are really to unscrew a screw or two

What do you mean unscrew a screw? I have a v12 pstwo slim. does the swap magic disc have to be original or can it be a burnt disc or loaded off the pendrive since its an .elf coder?

ok heres the cheap way to do make ur slim ps2 able use the fliptop method. i use a bread tie strip the plastic off of it and expose some metal cut a small piece and double it, now you have to remove the 6 screws on the bottom of ps2, then remove the top, now over by the memory cards area is another screw remove this also and take the ps2 out of the case, it makes it easier to access the switch you need, now if you look on the motherboard to the left of the cd/dvd tray in the back is a little should be brownish little button that if you push it a switch goes down, take the bread tie and work it into that so that that remains down, try to make sure its a good snug fit, now you can put your ps2 back in the case put the screw back in and put the top back on your ps2 and put the screws back. Now you need to open the lid of your ps2 right by the power button inside is an opening, this also has a switch on it but this one is easier to manipulate, take a piece of small paper or ne thing to put in that hole to engage that switch, now your ps2 thinks there is a game in it and when you turn it on w/ the lid open or closed it will spin, you can now use the eject button to swap out games yes, but the brake is still engaged so dont' play games with your lid open unless you manually move it to the side. Thats my cheap version of making a slim ps2 fliptopalbe.. good luck should take you less then 5 minutes to do
