Good Time To BUY A PS3? now? later?

Since the 60 gig ps3 got a price drop and im seein alot of ps3s in stock at walmarts here, however i never liked the PS3 Until now; motorstorm impressed me and all the other game previews such as GT Pro, best game ive seen in a while (of course its not out) but it looks good anyway.
now should i go for a PS3 now or hold it off?
I want it for the gaming play and the pretty much feature blu ray player too.

I suggest5 u get one now, because in a couple of months all the 60 Gigs are gonna be gone and u would have to buy the crappy 80 Gig Version.

Yea i finally bought one after the price drop. Plus you get 5 free Blue Ray dvds through the bluraysavings.com promotion, think its only good if bought in July though so hurry up!
And yea they are phasing out the 60GB's and will no longer be making them. But 20GB isnt really all that important to me. Better than paying extra for some package deal that includes a game im not interested in.

The games are way too expensive right now >_< they need to lower the price. It's 40 bucks for used resistance on ebay. Really wanted to buy that but it's too expensive :/

Buy it now because the 60GB seem to be the better version. The 80GB version will lack the emotion engine chip. Also you get 5 blu ray movies. Not that the titles for the movies are great but hey, free is free :)

Yea the promotion is for movies. I was just saying that there are some great games coming out in the upcoming months. So might as well get the 5 free movies before the promotion ends in my opinion.

Theres the list of movies - not that great but hey they are free. And you can only select 1 movie from each column.

I m really confused about buying ps3. i already have 360. dont like Wii because most of it games are childish. i will either buy new pc or ps3.but 6 blue ray offer is good with 500 price tag.

yea combined with the lower price on the better console(as in with the emotion chip) and the movie deal and the good games commin soon, I dont know when there will be a better time to buy.

Just buy one. now is the time where good games come out... x360 have too many problems . i finally got one and it jacked up a month later. now i have no 360 and im waiting for microsoft to send me a damn box lol. and ps3 i had since launch and i havent been disapointed. plus i feel like 360 is a rip off. because u are paying 60 bucks for their games and they are regular dvd format... ps3 is blu ray which is worth 60 bucks . but y spend 60 bucks for a regular dvd... so yeah. ps3 is growing right now is cheaper for a lil while and ps3 home is coming up and yeah.... get it tomorrow.

yea id get 1 now for a lot of reasons. More games are coming out finally and the PS3 is a very reliable system unlike Xbox 360 which has had a lot of bugs. Plus most stores will bundle the PS3 with free Blu-ray movies (usually 5) ive seen one in frys with 10 bluray movies bundled with it.

Just to add- anytime seems to be never a good time to buy new Tech. Look at all the people that bough the PS3 @ launch. They paid more and well myself I just bought mine on July 10th @ walmart and they just put a new one out that's bundles with the sony brand blu ray remote control a $40 dollar value. So I would have loved to have gotten a free remote but ahh well. Before that they had the PS3 bundled in with the movie Click. So I guess there is really never a good time to get one because a better deal will come right after you purchase something. But in this case, definitely get the 60GB version as it still has the emotion engine chip.

I got mine yesterday, although I didn't find one with the free remote. (there where only two in stock, and I didn't really feel like driving to other stores to find the PS3 with the remote.)
anyways, here's my real dilemma. I want to get the 5 blue ray movies for free from http://blueraysavings.com, but the order form requires me to send my receipt and some bar code from the PS3 box.
I want to keep the original receipt, just in case something bad happens and I have to prove I bought the system.
I was just wondering if I could actually make a copy of the receipt and send them that, or do I really need to send them the original receipt?

I photo copied my reciept. I looked everywhere in the promo for a number that I may possibly call to see if the original receipt is required but I did not find one. I also looked for fine print in the form asking for the original receipt but did not fine one. I am sending an photocopy and If I do not get my 5 free movies then I guess that answers the question whether you need to send the original receipt or not. Other afterdawn members please let other members know if you do need to send the original receipt for this promo. I will post anything that I find also in regards to this promo.

I finally went and got one the day i posted this. Im checking out the free blu ray offer right now but the problem is cutting the orginal UPC Code for it and the recipt, im still figuring this out to see if i could do a photocopy of it or send the orginal recipt, ill find out for u all.

Its indicates you need the receipt but not very specific to the original receipt. I gave the order form another close look and after asking a few co-workers, sending in your original receipt does not make sense as you need it for in store warranty purposes. Sending mined today with a photocopy of the receipt. If I don't get my 5 free movies in the 4 to 10 weeks that I guess that answers the original receipt question.

well, I'm with you guys on this one. I'm going to scan my receipt and send that in along with the original UPC code.
now, if only I had a scanner...
guess I'm going to look for one at a store or something. I'm pretty sure the library has one. I don't think I need to waste 40+ bucks when I can use 10 cents and get the same results.

If you look closely at the actual website, NOT the .pdf.
It says...
Cash register receipt from your eligible Bluray player purchase blah blah blah... (photocopies acceptable).
Yea kinda hard to see the print is pretty small.
