NOW ITS TIME TO DOWNGRADE!!! (NOTE: MAKE SURE U FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS PROPERLY AND DO NOT RUSH AS IN COULD RESULT IN A BRICK)
1. if you have already at 3.50 skip to step 7
2. Download the 3.50 update from above and save it to your desktop.
3. Rename the file name from 13840_EBOOT to EBOOT. (or EBOOT.PBP IF YOUR NOT USING WINDOWS VISTA)
4. On your psp in the game folder make a folder called UPDATE and in your /PSP/GAME/UPDATE is where your file goes so it would look like this ( /PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT .
5. On the game menu of your psp run the file and follow the on screen instructions and dont touch it after u install. Once done click X to finish.
6. You should be done now continue to the downgrade>>>
MAKE SURE U START DOWNGRADING WITH 3.50 >>
7.. Now download the "DOWNGRADE PACK" and open up the MS_ROOT folder and Drag the PSP folder inside of it to the root of your memory stick and click yes to overwrite if it asks you too.
8. Now download the 1.50 UPDATE and save it to your desktop. Rename the file to UPDATE or (UPDATE.PBP if you have windows xp) and then drag it to the UPDATE folder inside your GAME folder :/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . If you overwrite something YOU DID IT WRONG. Delete everything and try again.
9. Now go to your UMD and pres X to load Lumines. Dont press anything until you get to the Lumines start screen and press start once you get to it should blink red then go blue then go back to your psp screen.
THIS SHOWS HOW THE EXPLOIT SHOULD LOOK LIKE: CLICK ON PICTURE TO VIEW
10. Check that you have 3.50 HEN enabled by going all the way to the left on your psp then down to SYSTEM SETTINGS then down to SYSTEM INFORMATION you should get a screen looking like this.
3.50 HEN!
IF you see this go ahead to game and run the x.yz update from your memory stick.
Note: If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed without patching, if your motherboard requires it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed or if you've done something wrong in the previous steps press the(R-TRIGGER TO QUIT) your screen should look like this if you agreed to downgrade, while its processing.
WHILE ITS DOWNGRADING
11. Now once its done press X to restart the PSP
12. If it comes up saying settings are corrupt press X or O to continue.
1.50 DOWNGRADED PSP:)
13. ALL DONE!! hopefully u have a 1.50 psp now and are now part of the homebrew community:)

thx im just making my major tutorials on the other forum more clean to look at cuz its a pain scrolling down a whole lot of informationXD yea ive downgraded 2 psp like a charm total is 7 now:)

My JAP PSP1000 is currently on 3.50 HEN, but when i run the UPDATE X,YZ file it does the 'extracting special prx's from pbp...' ok.
Then the next screen (where you need to press X to flash the motherboard), just restarts the psp each time?
What am i doing wrong, i followed the tutorial word for word?

i've been closing your 100s of tutorials so they are able to stay as tutorials and not turn into war and peace. you can still edit them to your heart's content to keep them current, and they're all linked to from your main tutorial thread.
