Time Warner Activation?

I got a 8300 HD DVR on Ebay, thinking it would work on my Time Warner Cable, as it is identical to the box I got from the cable company. It will power up, but won't activate. The box says Cablevision on it. Any way to activate it for Time Warner, or should I put it back on Ebay? Also, if I see a box that says it will work on Time Warner, should I believe it?

I'm not sure but you can try this if you like ..

Turn your TV on and the DVR off .. Press Guide and Info buttons at the same time and the set-up wizard should appear , Press the yellow up arrow for Easy Set-Up and follow the instruction
