first you need to downgrade to firmware 1.50 then upgrade to a custom firmware. you cant make a backup of a psp before you downgrade. you must have a custom firmware to create backup flash folders so if you semi-brick you can use your recovery menu but it is only available on a custom firmware. you must downgrade first.
