After converting xVid files using VSODivxToDVD I find that there are a lot of random pixcels cropping up particularly when a scene changes from dark to light or vice versa . Is the VSO software lacking in some way ( anything better ? ) or is this something which you have to expect when compressing/decompressing files?
Any help would be appreciated .

This could be media related, what brand of discs are you using and what is your burn speed.
