Hi all,

I bricked my PSP 3.40 OE-A firmware about 2 months ago.

Whats happaning is, it turns on, the backlight of the screen comes on, but no sounds or menu.

It there anyway I can unbrick it without buying a new motherboard or modchip? I don't care what so ever what Firmware I get.

I also tried holding down R when turning it on, but not ever that menu would come up.

How it happaned was, the backlight on the screen wouldn't come on, everything else did, sounds and all, but it was way to dark to play anything on. So instead of trying to recover the firmware, I throught I'd just reinstall the firmware. but... I was making dinner, it started to burn, and when I ran downstairs to check on dinner, I tripped over the changer cable, and the PSP hit to floor (softly) but still knocked the battery out (I lost the battery cover), and right in the middle of installing the firmware, it went powerless. :/

So now... the backlight and power comes on, but no sounds and menu.

Ironic, aye? lol

Please help me out. If theres any way to recover the firmware or install another firmware from this point.

It's dead all right. Send it off to Sony if you don't mind them updating it to 3.52.

Did you remove the warranty sticker, and is it still under warranty?
