That is for the blue box, which is the latest version. I presume you are using a null modem cable between your pc and the box.

No, assuming that you have got the proper null modem cable and serial port adapter. Is there four dashs like this ---- when you power up the box?

No problem, there might be delays between my answers as I have a few queries on the go.
Run DnUpman.exe, Click the browse button next to the firmware window and select the FLASH file you have. Click download then start.Unplug the power to the Euro Vox MAX then re-apply the power. You should see the firmware been uploaded, then. This will take a minute or two please do not disconnect anything when it is going through this process.
Let me know when this is finished.

No problem. It this file eurovox_max-v_02_07_07.bin that you got from Steo's link. I hope you have saved it on your pc, preferable in the same folder as DnUpman.

This definitely sounds like an adapter/cable problem. The version of Dnupman you have is fine it is just the latest version and the older one is shown on the guide.
There are two different types of R232 serial adapters. The one you need is a USB serial port adapter. The guys in Maplins will just give you anything that sounds right. It should have this part number ZP43W on the box/packaging it came in.
