I've been using DVD Shrink along with DVD Decrypter to burn DVD's, all from bit torrent. I've burned about 12 DVD's no problem. After converting the files, they always open up in DVD Shrink no problem, and I burn them no problem. Then I tried burning Alpha Dog.. I finished burning it and Decryper said operation complete or sucessful or whatever it says.. I put the DVD-R in my DVD player and the tv said the disc might not have a playback feature or something.. So I tried burning the file into a DVD again and got the same results.. I deleting the file and converting it over again and it still doesnt work, the same thing always happens.. So I've now wasted 12 DVD-R DVD's.. They work on the computer but not on my DVD player.. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated..
this might sound silly but does your stand alone dvd player play dvd-r? also what brand of media are you using? also has the disk been finellised?also what format were the files in before you converted to dvd complayment?
yes my standalone dvd player plays DVD-R.. I've burned about 12 other movies the EXACT same way and they play perfectly fine in my DVD player.. I'm using TDK DVD-R 1-16x.. As far as I know decryptor finalizes the disk for me..
Before converting the file to dvd, it was a .avi file just like all the other files I downloaded.. All my files are from axxo, so there all basically the same thing.. For some reason though alpha dog and Goal II dont play in my dvd player but all my other movies play fine.. there all .avi file and there all downloaded from axxo.. This is so frustrating as I have wasted 12 new DVD-R discs..
mobskater-
I hate to say this but some DVD players don't read recorded disk very well. First thing to do would be to buy some RW disk so that as soon as you burn the movie you can test it in your stand alone player. The RW disk may be formatted. After you test and it works then burn it to a DVD-5.
The next thing to do is to make sure that you are burning to [DVD-ROM]. The other thing to do is to run your movies through VobBlankerLink to make sure that you have a quality DVD Structure.
The next thing you might want to try is to use a different decrypter program. Go to http://dvdfab.com/free.htm to download DVDFab HD Decrypter. DVD Decrypter is out of date and is not updated any longer. DVDFab may give you the rip that you need.
What is your burning software? Is it up to date? Is your firmware up to date for your burner? Try the other stuff first. Get the RW disk so that you can test without destroying your DVD-5 disk.
you have done something wrong, i did not know that dvd decrypter converted avi files to dvd, why don't you try convertxtodvd, and you say that they play on your computer right? also run the converted file that you have on dvd with g-spot and see what that tells you, cuzz i did alpha dog the same way as far as the sorce from a torrent and i had no problems at all with that movie, and i used convertxtodvd, and the file was a avi, i think that you have a problem with the encoding, good luck
sxyguns- I tried everything you recommended accept for buying the DVD-RW disc, so I've now wasted an additional 8 DVD-R's, a total of 20 DVD-R's I've now wasted...
I have a couple burning softwares and have tried them all.. I usually use decrypter but since it wasn't working, I tried Nero 7 Essentials, and ImgBurn. none of them worked either.
As for the firmware, I don't know if it's up to date and I don't know how to check if it's up to date or not. But as I stated before I burned about 12 other DVD's the EXACT same way.. and after not being able to burn these DVD's, I burned an additional 6 DVD's no problem.. But now I have 3 other DVD files that won't play in DVD players either.. But if I pop it into a computer it plays fine.. The burn process goes smooth and always says the burns sucessful... All my DVD's I'm burning are coming from torrent files..
rdmercer1 - I don't use dvd decrypter to convert avi files to dvd format.. I use winavi video converter.. I use decrypter to burn the DVD.. and they are avi files.. I know the problems not with encoding but thanks anyway.. I think the problem might be my burner.. I just got it.. it's a sony DRU-170c.. thanks again guys.. more suggestions would be appreciated..........
and i also tried dvdfab hd decrypter.. didn't work either.. and since i tried so many programs trying to get those files to burn to dvd I might as well give my perspective on what I think is easiest to use.. I don't think it get's much simpler then DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter... It's faster then most programs also.. WinAvi video converter is also a easy to use program for converting avi files.. takes a while though....
