I picked up another PSP to fiddle-faddle with..This one has 2.82fw and has the TA-082 mobo which I dont usually mess with...My question is this: Which way to downgrade? Up to official 3.03 and down with GTA-or Up to 3.50 and down with Lumines? I am on the fence about this, and need a second opinion.

82 mobo is the one withe the #'s in the umd right? And your other psp has 303 right? well i think it would be easier just to use the GTA...since you done it before....right? Alot of questions but i know i have 2 psp's that i bricked and they both had 82's but it was my fault.
I would just stick with what you know....use the GTA. and go to 340 oe a ..I think in one of the read me's it staes not to put it to 303 one it has been there before. by the way i know have a total of five that i pieced together..My whole family is on socom!!!Even my wife..lol

Yeah, its the dreaded IC1003 (TA-082) motherboard-My other PSP is non-TA-082 factory 2.60 which is currently running 3.40OE-I have downgraded several for friends and such, but they either had 2.50/60 to start with or 3.50-never a 2.82 though..SO I am debating on which route...And thats what I am trying to do as well, setup little lan parties with the PSP's get some Socom running!

U should go to 3.50 and do it wit lumines because i dont think the 3.03 downgrader works on TA-082

Deez, so I take you have both GTA and Luminus. If so, both methods are exactly the same. They both work with TA-82. I would go from 3.50 only because NOOBZ had more experience this time around.
Since you are on ta-82, once you are down to 1.5, I'd run the Chilly Willy's keycleaner. I can't access QJ or maxconsole, but they should have it over there.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

Thanks guys...I went with my first instinct and upgraded to 3.03, then used the 3.03 downgrader...It went well until after the downgrader, and I thought I bricked it..but then I remembered the brightness button trick, and I was safely on 1.50...So another PSP with 3.40OE-Not ready for that M33 just yet...
@blackvamp-can I run the chillywilly's key cleaner from CFW, or does it have to be on 1.50? I guess I can recover if need be..

I believe its a registry cleaner...I have not looked into it yet though..So probably not the same as the flash agent which is for clearing up space in flash0...

That's right, it fixed the IDstorage keys that will be damaged from a ta-82 downgrade. It can fix all but one of the keys.
Yes, it can be run from any custom firmware as well.

So you think I should still run that even though I successfully downgraded, and upgraded to 3.40OE?

Well, you IDstorage keys are still corrupted. It doesn't really affect anything, but I think it's a good idea to deal with it while you can, lest something needs a correct set of keys to work.

I ran the program, and it recommended that I fix the keys..SO I guess it worked-it says one of the keys is in an "unknown status" Its the 0x0005, but for key 0x0006-its a copy of the original 0x0005, which is odd..but everything seems to be working fine...The same as before I ran the key cleaner..

Yea, that's it. It won't be able to fix one of the keys I believe. Anyway, you won't be able to notice any difference, it's just a precaution.
