Well, a few months ago I updated to 3.40 OE-A and after I did so I began having trouble saving games. It only happens every once in a while, but as I access my memory stick to save the game. Once I do so, if it fails, it will just sit trying to read it and get nothing accomplished. The only thing to do at this point is turn off the PSP and start from the last point I saved...

Anyone know what's up with my PSP? Is it the firmware or is it something else? I highly doubt it's my memory card considering it's a fairly new 4GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that this never ever happened when I used Devhook. This problem started as I changed from Devhook to Custom Firmware.

is the memory stick real? highlight it under the xmb and press triangle and if its real it'll say magic gate supported.

Heh, that was one of the first things I tried. It comes up as Unknown which I don't know if that counts.

I did buy it off eBay, but the thing is that it was sealed in the sony packaging...

i'm sorry bro, but you bought a fake, and that's the reason it's not working well.

and that's what they do, they put it in the original packaging and etc to make you not even question if it's real or not.

Hmm, damn. Well, why would it start doing it after like 5 months of not doing it?

because they have a designated time to work from what i hear. People tell me 2-4 months, etc, ur lasted a long time, but either way, it only came with a 1 year warranty right? most fake ones do. the sony ones are set to last longer, therefore they have a 5 year warranty.

Ahh, I see. Well crap, I guess I'll have to go out and buy another one...

Well, no more buying cards online... how much are 2GB or 4GB sticks going for in stores now-a-days?

Well, I'm beginning to wonder if it's just my PSP. I've had it since its first day launching so... it could just be old age I guess. If it is, that's ridiculous! I've only had it for like 3 years.

Does anyone else have any tips? I tried your method Eagle, but it still resulted in the same problem. If not, I guess I have to buy a new PSP >.>

I really don't know what to do at this point...

Could it be the memory gate or something? I don't know why it would have problems since it runs ISOs alright.
