ok im new to this and have search for answers with none helping.my first back up was of a DVD-5 so i used DVD Decrypter for the whole process and everything went great, it even plays in my ps2.so then i move on to a large dvd. i used DVD Shrink to compress it down to size like the afterdark help pages showed me.sent it to the hard drive. then opened Nero 6 like it said and added the files to the ts video folder and burned it. well it burned fine no error or anything. but on play back it freezes as soon as i hit play on the main menu, ive tried 3 different movies and same results and also ps2 tells me to put in a dvd disk. so its not even reconizing it! any ideas anyone?

What discs are you using? You don't need to use Decrypter with DVD Shrink. Did you use 'analysis' option in Shrink before backing up?

i used decrypter to make a backup of a dvd 5 and that went fine it was the dvd 9 im having a problem with. i dont see a analize button, do u mean reauthor? im using maxell dvd+r disks

Have you got the latest DVD Shrink (v3.05 beta)? When you click on backup there is a box option to also analyse the disc. You only need to analyse if compression is more than about 10%. Don't know about Maxell discs but you should also try using another brand for testing - a +RW is good to test as you will not waste anymore discs.

Maxell is a good brand....I've made several DVD's with it and had no coasters or playback issues, and I've seen a few others report similar results.

Is it possible that u burned it in multisessions mode? Try it again and make sure it's set to single session. You didn't say whether or not the player that is locking up is in yer puter or is yer stand-alone, so I'm assuming it is a stand-alone.

FYI...I can't get my ps2 to play +RW's. +RW's are ok to use for stand-alone testing tho.

its is my puter that locks up, my stand alone wont even reconize it, yes its burned in single session.im going to the store today and by some rw disk so im going to try some diff things ill post after a few trys
