you mean when you do a hard reset (hold power off) then reboot holding down R it doesn't go to the recovery mode?

if this is the case, just re-install 3.52 M33

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

Just tried reinstalling the 3.52 M33 CFW. But it still can't go into recovery mode by holding the R button....

Anyone know why and how to solve it?

Now I've installed into 3.51 M33. But still can't access the recovery mode. Checked to see if the R button is faulty. But it works with games.

Anyone can help pls....

Never heard of this before, recover into 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.40 OE-A, if that doesn't work i don't know what to suggest.

If you can't get recovery to work, then you'll just have to be very careful with what you modify your flash0 with.

Recover to 1.50? How do I do that? Just install it over the 3.51 m33?

No, i know you can do it through the recovery menu, but since you can't access it you wouldn't be able to. I'm not ruling out other methods of doing it, but i'm not sure, someone with more knowledge in that area would have to help.

Don't know what else you could do

wow this is the strangest thing i've seen. this is just a suggestion and im not sure it works, but from dark_alex's 3.40 oe-a you can go straight to any lower custom firmware WITHOUT going to recovery menu. You do not trick your psp in any way. simply pretend like you're on 2.71 SE and are trying to upgrade to 3.03 oe-c,exept in our case we're on 3.40 oe-a. BUT im not sure if this will work with m33 custom firmware, if anyone is willing to try.....

i don't know about 3.52 but i am positive about 3.40 oe. I even tried it..... like it says in my name...3.40 oe-a > 3.03 oe-c.

I'm having the exact same issue as this guy, using 3.52 M33-2 and I cannot enter recovery mode no matter what. Is it normal? No other option for me than installing OE-A firmware?

PSP History:
PSP 2.81>1.50>3.52 M33>3.52 M33-2

Just got it worked out. It's either the R trigger is loose or you didn't press the R trigger fast enough after you have switched on the PSP.

1. Shut down the PSP FULLY. (By holding the off switch till it's off)
2. Once you have switched it on using the side switch, don't wait any second and quickly hold on to the R trigger.

Some guys waited for a second or more and thus the recovery mode can't be accessed.

If you are still having problems with it, check that there is a recovery.prx file in your kd folder in flash0. Get one if you don't have it.

Hope this will help.

Wouldn't that be somewhat of a pain? I just start holding it before i turn the PSP on :P
