howdy all..
got a little prob here thats probly simple to answer i hope.
i installed a wiikey on the wii (wired method)
system boots up fine, reads normal disc's, reads the setup disc i downloaded and burnt .. ver 1.2 us
heres the prob,, from my understanding the wiikey can play pal disc's.. I burnt a pal disc and it gives a read error.. (mariokart n64 pal ver).. I burnt it the same way as the config disc on a sonydvd-r disc at 16x.. i tried it a 4x also and no go.. i went into the setup and tried the dvd speed at 3x and 6x, region on and off i tried and aduio fix left on (from my understanding it don't do much anyhow).. so a bit lost right now..
any ideas? if it reads the set up disc, the wii key is installed correctly if it reads the burnt setup disc..
help

I'm not entirely sure this is true. My Wii was able to read the setup disc burnt on a DVD+R media, but it wouldn't play games burnt on those media. It does play the games on Sony's DVD-R though.
Try a new media brand. Verbatim seems to be everyone's favorite around here. Also make sure you enabled the region-free option in the setup.
I have download the WIIKEY 1.2 software, and click on the xxx.JAP file to create the .ISo file. When I prepare for the .ISO file, it is ready to burn to drive.
I have inserted the CD for burning, but when try on the WII machine, it did not work.
However, when I try to burn to DVD, it says to change to CD disc. How do I burn the .ISO file to the DVD disc ??? Is the .ISO meant for DvD disc???
I am using the NERO program, does other program helps ?? or is there a way to change the format.

Nero can work in either CD or DVD mode, so you need to tell it what you want to burn (I think it's the combobox at the top of the window).
That being said, ImgBurn works great, as NDarkness mentioned.

Maybe that's your problem? How exactly do you expect to run an N64 game on a Wii? Sure, it's backwards compatible, but an N64 game will have to be downloaded on the Virtual Console or run on an emulator. Either way what you'll be running a ROM of the cartridge because N64 games don't come on disks. So how exactly did you acquire/burn the disk of this game? If it's an emulator disk perhaps there's a problem with the set up of it somewhere...
