Crystal Chip and Gameshark Boot Problem

After some serious searching through Google and various other venues for two days now, I am still almost no closer to arriving at an answer for my problem.
First, I should divulge that I recently (one month or so ago) bought a pre-modded PSTwo (I believe it's a v15) with a Crystal Chip 2.0 SLE. The modchip has had zero problems playing back-ups and normal DVDs, including my original games (PS1 and PS2).
My problem arises in that I bought a Gameshark 2 the other night, but after I choose my cheats and go to load my game ("Please insert game disc and press X to continue" screen), the backup will not load. The original works, but that rather defeats the purpose of having the chip installed.
A great deal of the search results I have found regarding this have mostly related to the Matrix Infinity and DMS series of chips. After following some of the more generic advice, I am no closer to my goal. The Crystal Chips website -- and corresponding Wiki -- are of absolutely no help on the topic, which is why I am now asking here.
Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you load Gameshark in Minimal boot mode.
I have a downloaded version of ARMAX and it dosen't work if i load it in enhanced mode. However, it does work in minimal mode.

Thanks for the help, OmriSama.
Any idea how to reload the CC into minimal mode? The user manual is, quite literally, non-existent for this thing.
Actually, if anyone can find a link to a UM somewhere, I'd appreciate it.

Yes, I do, but I was rather hoping it was a simple matter of "hold Triangle while starting the PS2" or something as opposed to going through BM.
Is the only way to start BM through insertion of the CD?

Yeah I'm kinda in the same boat.
I'm running HDLoader from the CC flash and it works great for most games, however there's a few (eg: all Shin Megami games) that require "minimal mode".
I found if I boot the HDL CD in minimal mode and then boot the game they work fine too. I'd like to know if there's a way to boot HDL from the flash in minimal mode or if there's a way to force the CC to boot in minimal mode from startup - similar to recovery mode??
Any help would be much appreciated - thanks...

Oh ok thanks OmriSama. So I take it then you can only boot discs in minimal mode then - not homebrew or other elf's?

Think so. Unless they'll add something in the next Firmware/BootManager update. Or maybe there is a special kind of appinfo file...

Yeah I hope so. It's funny, I would have preferred it the other way round. IE: Default boot is "minimal mode" and you can select "enhanced/full mode" if you wish. I've found pretty much everything works flawlessly in minimal mode whereas quite a few things don't work in "full/enhanced" mode - so this would make more sense to me.
Anyway it's no big deal really - I'm loving the flexibility of the CC Pro SLE.....

PS - Sorry dervast for hijacking your thread...but yeah OmriSama is right, you should definitely try minimal mode for stuff that doesn't work in the default mode...
