I downloaded a NCAA Football '08 torrent, which wasn't pre-patched, but it came with the stealth files. My drive has Xtreme 5.3c on it, though, so I should be able to play the game whether it's patched or not (correct?)
I first burned it without being stealth patched, and it didn't work. Then, I patched it and burned it, and it still didn't work.
All the comments for the torrent I downloaded said it worked fine. Why won't it work on my drive?
I'd like to the torrent page w/ comments, but I'm not sure if that's allowed here.
and this is exactly why two of the most knowledgeable members have left the site. and the answer to your question has been answered several times about different games that were downloaded and "didn't" work. so do some searching and find them, or better yet, as this has already been stated, buy the game and rip it yourself.
When did I say I didn't own the original? I didn't. I DO own the original. I just dont have the drive to rip the games, and never saw the need in spending the money to buy the extra drive, because I can always just download them instead of ripping.
Don't make assumptions.
And @ wabashman:
Not every case is identical. I have done research. Lots of it. My situation is different from the questions that's been answered "several times about different games that were downloaded and 'didnt' work." Something else messed up.
well make sure that layer break is set correctly in whichever program you are using to burn the game with. as this might be set wrong, changed when you merged the patch/stealth files into the iso image.
