Hey guys, I'm having a really weird problem with my Swap Magic 3 DVD disc. Basically, I load SM, and I get to the screen telling me to insert the disc. I put the disc in, and when I hit the X button, it spins for a second and then tells me that it's not a valid PS2 disc.
The reason that this is strange is because I've been using SM 3 for almost a year, and never had problems with it. I originally bought it to play imported Japanese titles, but have even used it to play backups with no problem. The funny thing is that today it suddenly gave me the "not a valid ps2 disc" error message, and now it's giving it to me on all of my games that I try.
I don't believe it's a laser problem, because it loads the Swap Magic disc, and it also loads regular PS2 titles. It's not a media issue, which I know is the most common answer. I'm using Sony DVD's, and the games that worked perfectly a month ago are not working now, and again it's not just backups, the same thing happens with my original copies of imports (or any game that I try to load with SM for that matter).
This happened about a month ago, and I tinkered with the PS2 until it worked again, but today I went through the same steps as last time, and got no results. It DID load one game, but when I turned it off and tried to load the game I wanted to play, it went back to the same error. Any idea what's going on here, and how to fix it?

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to mention that I'm using a slim PS2. I'm also using a Ghost Switch in conjunction with the Swap Magic.

Yes, I've tried both the X regular boot, and the [] special boot. they both cause the disc to spin for a second and then nothing happens.
After tinkering a little more last night, I got it to where it would load domestic games, but only if I tried them first. For instance, if I loaded swap magic, then "Bully", and hit x, the game would load. But if I loaded swap magic, then one of my burned games (that have worked before mind you), it would spin for a second, and then tell me it's not a valid ps2 disc.
I was thinking that maybe there's a part of my ghost switch that isn't working properly, but I think there were only 3 pieces, and I checked them all. The little block that I put inside of the system is intact, the thing that stops the disc brake is working, and the front sensor that allows the disc to be read even when the system is open, is working.
I finally gave in a bought a used copy of Devil May Cry 3, but I still can't play the burned imports that I had.
