I've tried everything...I've looked through like every thread!!! I have swap magic 3 plus or something like that!!! I burned my Guitar Hero II with custom songs to a sonyDVD-R using DVD Decrypter!!! I get to the load program screen and I swap discs using the slide tool...and I know for sure...I am 110% positive that the tray is locked back in correctly!!! I hit load program and it sits for about a minute then under video mode in blue says "Not a valid PS2 disc"!!! I have tried reburning it using almost all my DVD's (25) also remaking the .iml & .iso files!!! I even tried to make an exact copy of the game without the custom songs and it doesn't work, however it will boot the original GH II disc fine! Also My PS2 is really old I've had it almost since it first came out...the back of the DVD-R's is blue...I heard the PS2 doesn't read well with the blue...could that be my problem!?!?!?! I'm at wits end I've waited for my custom GH II for so long and only to find out that it's not working!!! PLEASE HELP!!! THANX IN ADVANCE!!!
from my experience some programs don't always boot right from sm, but what you should try that may or may not work is getting another boot program to use w/ sm. i use zoneloader dvd/cd so some of my games like grand theft auto liberty city stories doesn't boot up i get not a valid ps2 disc,, i load sm swap out and put on zoneloader then put in game and that works... it is a free program to download it can be put on a regular dvd and cd good luck hope that helps
I finally got my Swap Magic / ps2 working... but none of you knew that since i didnt bother asking anyone for ghelp... my problem might be the same as yours... i took my ps2 apart and re ajusted it, making sure the case was 100% on correctly, and snug... due to it not being snug my copy of (ironicly) GTA Liberty City Stories wouldn't work... but make sure you are doing it correctly. with 3.8 as soon as the option box comes up with (normal) (special) (boot?) (codes) put the burned back up disc in then, before you click on any option...for some reason it doesnt always load the game if you change the game after thsi point. the first time i did it, my disc took about 15 seconds to load, and it was skipping... after i reajusted my screws and everything [i tihnk the lens and disc tray were a mila-meter too apart] it took only about 5-8 seconds to load first showing ablack screen. now the game runs smoothly. well worth it! i use nero to burn the disc.
