dnas error -402 online with original game

i've tried plaing my ps2 original game ratchet and clank up your arsenal but every time i get the dnas error -402 can anyone help me with this problem? it also happened with my backed up games so i'm thinking that its a mod chip problem i don't know what mod chip i have though, i got it modded about 2 years ago if that helps (slim ps2) if i need to open my ps2 to give more info please do tell
