Hi there, kinda new to the forums and havent searched about this topic yet.

My dilemma is that i want to connect my xbox 360 to my computer but i dont have a router or hub. So id like to connect it directly to the computer and be able to access the internet (xbox live) by just using this direct line. My computer currently uses a wireless network card and is connecting to a wirless network in my house several floors up but i dont want to run a cat 5 cable all the way up there..

Is there any way i can connect my xbox 360 to my computer just using a hard line. And if so can someone take me step by step on how to set this up please.

Thank you

Simple enough, install some kind of ethernet expansion card (pci etc) into your PC and plug it into that. that'll get you connected to xbox live.

i'm not entirely sure what a cat5 cable is though, sorry

cat5 is just a fancy term used to refer to a network cable.
