i apologize ahead of time for this really noob question. I have looked everywhere for answer and I am just getting more confused.

I currently have the official firmware version 1.52. Can I install M33 3.52 directly? or do I have to upgrade to 2.0, then downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to M33 3.52? or should I upgrade to Sony's official 3.52 then to M33 3.52? Also if I have to do the first step where can I find 2.0 firmware since sony only has 3.52 available right now as upgrade.

any help would be appreciated.

you basically answered your own question...you had it right the first time 1.52-2.00-1.50-3.52M33

if you upgrade to official 3.52-you're screwed...
psp-hacks.com has your firmware updates and downgraders...but seeing that I am feeling extra charitable today..

you may have to create the UPDATE folder...then run it from your game icon in the psp menu

so i downloaded the file in the Update folder. when I open PSP, the upgrade file is located on the "Game" tab inside memory stick. I click on it to upgrade to 2.0 and I get "game could not be started, 80020148) message?

No, you don't need to register; it just looks like they took the file down. Sorry, I should've checked before I posted.

Anyway; I can't find another working 2.00 Update file anywhere. You could always upgrade to 2.71 and downgrade it; you won't need a game or anything.

The guide on the link below should help with all questions as to 2.71 downgrading.

no-I got the 404 error as well...

hey try just putting that eboot into the GAME folder once...see if that works...Instead of the UPDATE folder...
