ok i have an acer 1916w 19inch monitor and i would like to use it as my monitor for my xbox 360.but my problem is sound i have a logitech x-530 speaker system but it has computer hookups but i want to use it cause its dd 5.1. can somebody tell me how to hook this mess all up.

i have mine hooked up to a monitor..
but the sound cables are going into a home theater system...
you need to get something with white/red audio plugs or i dunno if they make it but a white/red female and on the other side a female headphone jack.

good news i went digging through the big box o wires and i have the wires needed so now alls i need is the vga cable.and once again thankyou for the help.

getting a one plug adapter will only give you 'simulated' surround sound. not true surround sound. If your PC only has the one input jack, like a headphone jack you are only getting a fake surround sound, pumped up stereo sound really. Sure it will sound better then some stuff but will never give you that true surround sound feeling.

What you need to do is run the component cables to the monitor if you can, and then use the attached RCA cable to go directly to the speakers so you have at left and right on seperate channels.
