Hello.

I have an old, big PS2 and a USB HDD (Maxtor, 500Gb) and I wanted to know what do I have to do to run games from the HDD. Is it possible at all with an old PS2 or do I need anything additional?

My PS2 has a modchip, BTW. I've tried runing USBAdvance via UlaunchELF but it doesn't load the games.

Thanks in advance.

Why the **** would you want a USB HDD with an old PS2?

Also, try using USBExtreme. And try burning it to a CD.

And what modchip do you have?

USB HDD is what I have.
Do I get faster loading of games with it? If not, I won't bother making it work (alternatives would be appreciated)

I use USBExtreme to dump the games into the HD, then I use USBAdvance to (try to) run them. I've read the procedure in this very site. Am I doing something wrong?

Normal HDDs are way better. They have faster loading times then normal and also better compatibillity then USB.

USB HDDs have slower loading times then usual and about 5% percent compatibillity with all PS2 games. Lame, lame.

Im kinda a noobie @ this, but Ive got the old fat PS2 w/ a 40Gb Maxtor & the network adapter. A buddy of mine gave me the network adapter but no setup/utility disk. Do I need the setup disc and HDLoader? Or will just one or the other let me access the HD? I dont have a modchip and ive already slapped a bunch of games on the HD.
